As people of The Most High God, we discover that as life goes on, that we are in desperate need of Godly Friends. God has a Barnabas for all of God’s people. A child of God that will befriend us that God’s will may be wrought in our life.
The important question is how are we to recognize these God given gifts to us. Just what are the signs that will help convince us that certain people of God have been sent by God to come alongside us and that to help us fulfil our dreams and purposes?
There are three prominent signs and that being:
THEY WILL LOVE US REGARDLESS OF OUR FAILURES AND BAD HABITS,
THEY WILL BE OUR CONFIDANTS AND
THEY WILL ALWAYS HONOUR THEIR WORD MADE TO US.
TRUE GODLY LOVE: Genuine Friends do not love like the world loves. When we falter and fail our worldly Friends forsake us, however God ordained Friends like our God never ever leave nor forsake us. Our bad habits often turn people away from us, but never our Godly friends, they will no doubt disapprove of our ungodly ways, but those ways will never stop them from loving us. They are there for a definite purpose and that to help us through prayer and companionship to overcome our bad ways and sins. No wonder The Word of God declares that A FRIEND LOVETH AT ALL TIMES.
CONFIDANTS: God given Friends do not have SECRETS in their relationship. Their hearts are as open books to each other. They share their innermost secrets. At all times they TRUST each other. They disclose their FAULTS and FAILURES to each other. They never disclose each other’s weaknesses and sins to other people. They are THEIR FRIENDS KEEPER.
PROMISE KEEPERS: My dear Father, Joseph de Allende, taught me that A MAN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD. In a God ordained Relationship OUR WORD IS OUR BOND? WE LIVE BY OUR WORD AND WE DIE BY OUR WORD. OUR WORD IS OUR HONOUR. Men who break their Words of Promise and Covenant, are men to avoid.
Considering the above THREEFOLD CORD OF BIBLICAL FRIENDSHIP, it is God Himself who sets forth an example for all of us to follow:
HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS, THOUGH WE SIN AGAINST MANKIND AND GOD, HE NEVER EVER WITHDRAWS HIS LOVE.
HE SAW ABRAHAM AS A CONFIDANT. HE SHARED HIS HEART AND INTENTIONS CONCERNING SODOM AND GOMARRAH WITH ABRAHAM.
HE HONOURS HIS PROMISES TOWARD US. HEAVEN AND EARTH WILL PASS AWAY BUT NEVER HIS WORD. HE WATCHES OVER HIS WORD TO PERFORM IT.
